Shaylynn & Michael tied the knot at The Vue last year, but I’m just now getting around to sharing the images. Their theme was inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night, with some of their hobbies and their love story (via pictures, on easels) , sprinkled throughout.
The Vue is located in downtown Corvallis and is a really cool venue. It has multiple floors, which makes it easy to separate the ceremony and reception areas. They offer catering, as well as bar tending, and a killer view!
I am SO excited to have this amazing robe in my boudoir closet, for clients to wear! It’s a gorgeous shade of emerald green, has about 10 million ruffles, and fits a wide range of body types and sizes. Of course, Aly looks good in everything, but I promise this is flattering on just about everyone.
If you would like to wear this during your boudoir session, just make sure you let me know ahead of time, as I have it stored at home, rather than my studio, due to it’s…volume.
This bed was in my guest room (where this was taken), until just recently. We just converted our guest room into a storage closet for some of my photo furniture and props. I love this bed so much, but it took up way too much space in our tiny guest room, so it’s in storage for now. It will make a reappearance, though, someday.
I’ve known this gorgeous senior since she was a baby. Actually, her mom was pregnant with her when I was pregnant with my youngest and somewhere there’s an old photo to prove it! Anyway, if she looks familiar, it’s probably because I did her sister’s senior photos a couple of years ago and they look a lot a like (and for those who know their parents…they look JUST like them, don’t they?) . In fact, we did part of her sister’s senior portraits at this same beach (click HERE to see that blog post). Although she doesn’t live there now, the Oregon Coast is where she grew up and this specific beach has a lot of meaning to her and her family.

How cute are these two (three, if you count the bus)?! Porshe is a longtime client-turned-friend and it has been such an honor, watching her family grow. Mo’orea (8 months old here) is her third baby and she is just as sweet as can be!

I love photographing crafters, especially while doing what they love. I stopped by Elizabeth’s house one morning, to document her in action. These photos were “just because,” but I love this idea for online dating photos or branding.
Gorgeous mom alert! Side note: All of these layering pieces are in my studio closet and available for clients to wear during sessions. Just make sure you let me know ahead of time, in case it happens to be at my house (I have two studio closets)!

I adore this mama and and her three girls. This is her youngest (whose birth you can see photos of HERE) and she’s just a sweet as can be. As you can see, she adores her mama and makes the best facial expressions. As if that wasn’t enough, she decided to stand up on her own for the firs time DURING the photo shoot! Check out that very last photo and look at how surprised they both look!

Last month, I rented the Gray Lab (a public use studio, near mine) for some holiday mini sessions. The space works SO much better for families/groups than my own studio, plus they have awesome furniture and I didn’t have to do any Christmas decorating! Since I had some extra time leftover, I decided to do some self-portraits. I’m not a fan of being in front of the camera and I’m even less of a fan of sharing photos of myself, but here we are. I force myself to do this every so often, though, both for the practice and to prove my existence, since nobody else in my family ever seems to take any photos.
Anyway, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!
Although I did my decorating long before Christmas, I didn’t manage to get these photos posted in time. I’d love to blame the weather, but it was just me being a procrastinator. Anyway, I recently decorated Honey (my 1962 Shasta Compact) for her first Christmas! All in all, I got a little carried away with the trailer theme and it ended up a bit on the tacky side, but oh well. She’s still cute and cozy!
I had a blast, photographing the adorable Dalaney at Silver Falls State Park last year. This location holds a special place in this senior’s heart, which just made the session all that much more meaningful.
I had the privilege of photographing this extended family last year at Deepwood Museum & Gardens (yeah, yeah, I know I’m always behind on blogging).
A while back, when I first converted an unoccupied bedroom into our guest room, I decided to test it out as a boudoir set. Long story short, the light was great, but my cats are a pain in the ass. So, that was that. HAHA! Anyway, we managed to get some beautiful shots, but I will probably just stick to using my studio.
